Paper Players Challenge 101

I haven't participated in The Paper Players weekly challenge in quite some time, but I rolled up my sleeves this evening and whipped up a card.   The challenge this week is hosted by Lesley and she provided a great sketch!

My creation:

Card Ingredients:

Cardstock:  Pink Pirouette (smooth and textured), Whisper White (textured)
DSP:  A Cheerful Treat
Ink:  Bashful Blue, Versamark
Stamp Sets:  Mixed Bunch, Swirls and Curls
Accessories:  basic pearls, white embossing powder, heat tool, blossom punch, dimensionals, snail adhesive, embossing folder from Provo Craft, Cuttlebug

Here is a close up of the embossing:

Hope you enjoyed tonight's card -  I love cards with texture, don't you?

A Spice Cake Birthday Challenge

One of my favorite blog challenges is the Thursday challenge at  Pals Paper Arts.  This week's challenge is a Sketch Challenge by the uber talented Margaret Moody.

Here is my card:

I made a very clean and simple card using one of my favorite designer papers from Stampin' Up! - Spice Cake.  Not a lot to it - The base of the card is Pool Party (a very yummy color).   I used a lid from the mica flakes container to make the large circle.  Trimmed a rectangle piece from Spice DSP.  Added an extra large soft suede button threaded with linen thread and punched out a birthday greeting using the decorative label punch.   I tried adding some basic pearls to the the greeting, but I just didn't like how they looked.

Card Ingredients:

Cardstock:  More Mustard, Pool Party
DSP:  Spice Cake
Stamp Set:  Happiest Birthday Wishes
Ink:  Soft Suede
Accessories:  Spice Cake button, Decorative Label punch, dimensionals, snail adhesive, linen thread

Hope you had a wonderful Sunday!

Happy Stamping!

Time to Create!

I know it's been awhile since my last post. Life threw me a curveball and our daughter decided to leave K-State after 3 semesters and moved home in December.  She decided she wanted to transfer to Wichita State and save money for a car.   Having her home has been a bit of a challenge for her dad and I.   I didn't realize what an adjustment it would be, especially since she decided to adopt a dog too.   Needless to say, between work and home life, I was overwhelmed and stressed for several weeks, but I am happy to report that I am finally on the mend and feeling much better.  :)    Now, onto a couple of my newest creations!

Graduation Card - totally inspired by Mary Fish's blog, Stampin' Pretty on May 11th.

New  Baby Card - I designed this card for The Paper Players 100th Challenge.  I didn't get it uploaded in time for the challenge as I couldn't find the cord to my camera, but I based the card off of the sketch from The Paper Players Challenge #16.

I'll be posting more this weekend as I plan to jump back into several blog challenges!
